Termpayer takes the privacy of schools, staff, and student data seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Who We Are

Termpayer is a school management platform that helps schools manage staff, students, and academic records. References to "we", "us", or "Termpayer" mean the Termpayer platform and its operators. By using Termpayer, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data: • Account data: name, email address, school name, and role (owner, staff, bursar). • Student records: names, class, admission numbers, and academic results entered by your school. • Usage data: login timestamps, actions performed within the platform (for security and audit purposes). • Payment data: transaction references and subscription status. We do not store card details — payments are processed by Paystack.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to: • Provide and maintain the Termpayer platform. • Authenticate users and enforce role-based access. • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, security notifications). • Process subscription payments via Paystack. • Detect and prevent unauthorised access or abuse. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure. We enforce Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables, meaning each school can only access its own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply rate limiting and security headers across the platform.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following third-party services necessary to operate Termpayer: • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. • Paystack — payment processing. • Vercel — platform hosting. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your school has an active account on Termpayer. If you delete your account, we will remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate dispute resolution purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Request correction of inaccurate data. • Request deletion of your account and associated data. • Object to processing of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

8. Children's Data

Termpayer stores student records on behalf of schools. Student data is entered and managed exclusively by authorised school staff. We do not interact directly with students, and student data is never used for any purpose beyond what the school requires.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify account owners by email when material changes are made. Continued use of Termpayer after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
